Today I want to briefly address a private matter.
I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to sew the lace edging on my latest Rowan sweater, and violates my — or any — sense of RS and WS.
I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the knitblog community, whom I promised better.
I do not believe that knitting in the long run is about individuals.
It is about dishrags, sweaters, and doing what’s best for the state of knitting.
I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself.
I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my stash.
I will report back to you in short order.
PS Lisa Daehlin’s Granny Square crochet class at Knitty City on Saturday was awesome. Even the most fanatical of crochet refuseniks would have loved it. Since Saturday evening, I have neglected the final touches on Ether, and I’ve been making a fool of myself with the grannying. (E.g., recklessly risking detection, I grannied through Horton Hears a Who. In the dark. Hence the pinwheel effect on my Big Granny.) The heart wants what the heart wants!
