Enough About the Back of Your Neck

Dear Ann,
Hot town,
Summer in the city
Time to stick your kid
In a tube of knitting
.
‘Tis the season, apparently, for cranking the Lamb’s Pride Bulky into chewy felted rugs. Happy weekend, everybody.
Love,
Kay

  1. What a great idea; saves you the trouble of having to actually roll up the kid in the rug yourself.

  2. Happy weekend to you too!
I am expecting an old Rowan magazine about denim to land in my mailbox today, so I will either spend my weekend looking at that, or cursing the mail for not bringing it.
Not felting any rugs here, no no no.

  3. Reminds me of the EZ Gaffer’s scarf incident. see postcard after scrolling down on this page: http://www.schoolhousepress.com/tools.htm
Stupid me, I thought I could knit that rug but now I realize I am missing an important supply: child to insert in tube. Wish the pattern had been published before the biological alarm rang!

Would love to knit that rug but realize I am missing something from the supply list: child to insert in tube. Drat! Of course, depending on the day, I could probably find a neighbor willing to share.
Hope your weekend is great, Kay!

  5. … Get down, isn’t it a pity,
Hot little bug in a tube of knitting
Bues & pinks from toes to head
Where’s the orange, where’s the red?
    Next time different color scheme
Buy the yarn and we’ll make the scene
Come-on come-on we will knit all night
    Herringbone made in colors bright!
And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity
Stash has limits, even when pretty
    As meriko tube of knitting
Little bug’s tube of knitting …
(now this is gonna be stuck in my head all day!)

  6. This made me snerk so hard! Some kids just need to be tubed!

  7. Oh my! I just finished my rug and it looks remarkably similar to the one in the photo. I’ll post it on Ravelry next week, when I can get it home from the county fair.
I LOVE this pattern. Thinking of one in reds (scarlet,) grays, maybe black for my OSU grad sister. Go Buckeyes!

  8. Oh my stars! I just finished the rug and it looks remarkably like the one in the photo. I’ll post it on Ravelry next week, when I get it home from the county fair. No children, large or small, remain around here to model though.
