Am feeling very tender about Eleanor Roosevelt this week. (She knits in Episode 4!)

Gotta Love a New Toy

Dear Ann,
You know I love a cool blog toy. I saw this over at Amy’s and I’ve been having a grand time with my favorite picture.

You don’t do anything except select your picture and see what happens.
What good is it? I have no earthly idea.
Everybody have fun.
Love,
Kay

  2. So beautiful!
    LoveDiane

  3. I am thrilled to see you put that photo of dear Great Great Tante Carrie , just after she got thru Ellis Island, in a nice frame. Such a sweet girl.

  4. HA!

  5. OMG, that is the coolest thing!

  6. It’s good for changing your Ravatar

  7. Now she looks like an ancestor from the old country.

  8. Dear Mrs. Anne and Kay: I know how you two like a good cause, so if you get a minute, please consider checking this out: http://emilytheslayer.livejournal.com/240715.html
A friend of mine is writing stories about handmade things to raise money for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, and there is some yarn and some knitted things up for auction as part of it.
    Thanks!

  9. I saw it over at angry chicken’s this morning too, and it has been sucking the time out of my morning (now afternoon) like crazy. I think they must be getting a lot of hits there (and maybe complaints?) because some images are no longer available. Wish I had seen the Mona Lisa before they took that image down. My daughter’s smile rivals hers. I’ve sent my daughter’s image now from a meeting at the Kremlin to a museum piece of art and so forth to my parents and siblings and they’re lovin’ it! I’m sure it does the world good somehow – if only to spread some well-needed cheer around.

  10. I like watching you have fun! :)

  11. Kay, your thoroughly modern girl does not look quite so modern now, does she? :) I like using the Sepia filters to play with pictures. However, wearing the shawl wrapped as it it, adds to the timeless quality. Obviously modern clothing detracts in some cases.

  12. …..and i even think your hands holding the photo are lovely, too!

  13. Well ladies, I have just finished reading 5 years of blog entries…very nice. I have had your first book for two? years and loved it…have had your second book on pre-order at Amazon since they put it up for sale, and am anxiously waiting for it. I know more about you two than I do about many of the people I have worked with for 25 years–a little scary, but not in a bad way, I guess. I hope your book comes soon, because I am missing you both already. Oh wait…you still blog…I can still visit with you regularly and not be missing you. Seriously, though, I really have enjoyed reading your blogs. I have gotten a lot of great knitting tips and I really like the way you two interact and think about things. I usually lurk, but I wanted to say “thank you” today and also “good job” — really, very nicely done! Deedee Winters, Windsor, PA (not far from the Mason Dixon line)

  15. That is a very cool tool. Carrie looks so exotic.

  16. I’ll go play later, but am I the only one to think this? That remarkable picture looks freakishly like the cover of a National Geographic book published 5-10 years ago (the years fly, do they not?). Let me see if I can link it up…

Well, not exactly, but very much like. Real pretty.

  17. That is so cool! Thanks for sharing.
