Need a holiday handknit? Time for a Schmatta!

Let’s Give Away A Book or Two, Shall We?

Dear Ann,
Our dear publisher has sent me a couple of most excellent books, so I thought I’d get busy and give them away this morning.
First up:
400stitches.jpg
400 Knitting Stitches. Not 399, not 401, but 400! This is a good solid stitch dictionary with a really pretty cover. I was tempted to keep it, but since I seem to have talked myself into all 4 of the Barbara Walkers (5 if you count the Learn-to-Knit Afghan, and I think you should), one Lesley Stanfield, and a Harmony guide, that would be a bit piggish.
Next, for our young & bangin’ friends with sewing machines:
twinklesews.jpg
Olive likes it, obviously.
twinklesewspage1.jpg
Twinkle Sews.
This book is crammed with beautiful examples of Twinkle at her insouciant best. Everything is young, fun, and different-but-not-weird.
twinklesewspage2.jpg
I would keep this book to make clothes for Carrie if that were not the most unrealistic idea, even for me. (What with the rug-making operation and all.) I really would love for this to go to a loving home. It’s special.
Da Rules
To enter the contest, leave a comment to this post no later than noon (NY time) on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, telling me which book you’d like (choose one). (Note: Anyone who says anything unsupportive about Twinkle’s models being skinny (as skinny as –gasp! shock and horror!–fashion models) will be disqualified. There’s no First Amendment in book giveaways!) The winner will be chosen by separate random drawing for each book.
In a Twinkle State of Mind
twinklecardiwip.jpg
Coinky-dink: today I’m sewing up my re-gauged version of the Best Friend cardi from Twinkle’s first knitting book. It’s for Carrie or, if it doesn’t fit her, someone equally Twinkle-riffic. (But not Olive.)
Love,
Kay

  18. I would love, love, love teh 400 Stitches book. I’ve been looking for a good stitch dictionary…and saw this at Rhinebeck, but I had already dropped my wad, so had to leave it on the shelf…:(

  40. Yep, I’d love 400 stitches. I’m new to knitting – just since February, actually! – and didn’t even know stitch dictionaries existed. BRILLIANT.

  41. Oh the conundrum of making such a decision. 400 stitches for me or Twinkle sews for my fashionista, skinny as a rail (clearly not from my side of the family), daughter???
Please put me in for the Twinkle book, it’s the motherly thing to do! Thanks for sharing!

  42. I would love the 400 stitches book. When I saw book give-away I thought we were going to have to do something complex – knit a book cover, name your latest project – something that required more creativity than I could probably muster. But leaving a comment – this I can do! (wish me luck :)

  71. I would love the 400 knitting stitches book! And could you send Olive with the book? I’ll take her too!

  72. I don’t have even one stitch dictionary. Am I still a real knitter? Hope I win.

  73. 400 Knitting Stitches.

  74. I’d love to win the 400 stitches book. I don’t have a stitch dictionary and the thought that there could actually be 400 different stitches boggles the mind – and screams big blanket.

  75. I would love the 400 Stitches book. I don’t have a stitch dictionary; I probably should!

  76. Can one ever have too many stitch dictionaries? 400 Knitting Stitches looks good but how did you get Olive to help with pet participation in pictures? Perfect!

  77. Ooh, one can never have too many stitch dictionaries! Looks lovely, as does the puppy!

  78. 400 Stitches! Right now I only know 200, so think of what I could do with 4. Wowza. :)

  79. Sign me up for 400 Knitting Stiches Please!. Happy hooking.

  80. Stitch Dictionary! Though since I am a left handed mirror knitter, I am not sure that my results will be strictly kosher.
I think the models need to stand up straight! But I’m pleased that they are smiling. I’m so tired of sullen girls in fabulous clothes: if you can’t be happy in a gorgeous outfit, well I don’t know what is wrong with you.

  81. Oh my-I could really use 400 Stitches. I seem to have lost my knitting mojo and some inspiration would be so wonderful. Haven’t knit much at all in 4 or so months which is pretty scary for me. Thanks for the Olive pics!

  82. I’d love to own a copy of Twinkle!

  83. Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle! To go with my Twinkle knits book. Plus my best friend’s daughter could totally wear the stuff. I could wear some of it myself and go all matchy-matchy with a Twinkle sweater.

  84. Whoo hoo, I’d love the 400 stitches book (should I wing of course)…:-)

  85. I love me some stitch dictionaries! (which means I’d love to be entered for the chance to win 400 Knitting Stitches)

  86. 400 Stitches would be my choice…you can never have too many swatches….

  87. 400 Stitches, please. How can I pursue my latent desires to design knitwear without this book?

  88. The 400 stitches book would be excellent! Thanks for offering these up.

  89. Ooooo. I would LOVE the 400 knit stitches! I’m trying to build up my knitting reference books and this would be a great addition :)

  90. I would say something snarky about fashion models being as skinny as fashion models, and how I wish they wouldn’t do that, except that one photo you showed has the woman having breasts and real calves. So I can’t complain about her!
But don’t enter me, I won’t use the book, and I also have the BW books ;-)

  91. I’d love the stitch dictionary. I have this grand idea that in my spare time I’ll start designing my own scarves and stoles. Could you aid and abet that delusion?

  92. I would love the 400 Knitting stitches book! I don’t have any other books by that author; although I have one knitting stitches book that I use.I have been able to attempt to keep my sanity using that book since it is a welcome respite from my challenging teenaged son. I would really like another book of this type especially if it is chewed by adorable Olive.

  93. 400 Stitches!

  94. Would love, love, love the Twinkle book. Perfect inspiration to get me sewing again!

  95. Me! Me! Pick me to give the 400 stitches book to, please! I don’t have even one stitch dictionary. *sniff*

  104. I would love to have the 400 stitch book since the only thing I have for a stitch dictionary is the 2007 365 day calendar! Still works though. Great contest!!!!

  105. I would love to win “400 Stitches”. I love your blog, keep it up!

  106. I would love that stitch dictionary! Very generous of you to share :)

  107. I’d love the Twinkle Sews book. So pretty.

  108. Ooh, 400 Stitches, please. There are 400? I could make it a Julie/Julia project and knit through them in a year, thereby figuring myself out and getting my act together. Or I would have a lot of awesome new knitwear. Thanks!

  110. 400 Knitting Stitches please!

  120. I would love 400 Knitting Stitches! I have a boatload of knitting books, but alas, no true stitch dictionaries! Thanks for parting with it! Oh and Olive is just adorable! (I know that doesn’t improve my chances of winning, but she really is!)

  121. 400 Knitting Stitches, please. And thank you.

  122. I’d love the stitch guide. I see a couple of stitches on the cover alone that I would like to try.

  123. I would say the Twinkle book because I have youngers sisters and it looks like it would be full of stuff I could make for them!

  124. I would love the Twinkle sews book–especially since I have been looking for an excuse to pull out the 35 yr old Singer machine (it still works great!) and start sewing again. Maybe something in the book will match the Twinkle ballerina sweater that I made from her first book in Twinkle yarn!

  125. I would love-love-love the 400 stitches book!

  126. I would love the stitch dictionary. I’m certainly not “young & bangin'”! =)

  127. As much as I’d LOVE to have a “Touched by an Olive” book… 400 Knitting Stitches, please! It would be my very first pattern book…

  128. I’d love the stitch dictionary. It would be very inspirational.

  129. Twinkle Sews! Thank you!

  130. I have to admit I’d go for the knitting as well..I haven’t even gotten a sewing machine!

  131. 400 stitches please.
Olive might need a sweater. It’ll be cold soon.

  132. Once upon a time, I was as skinny as the models and made all my own clothes…but now I knit! I don’t have a good stitch dictionary and I would love to have the 400 Knitting Stitches.

  133. Definitely the stitch book. Please Please Please, the stitch book. I’m not young enough nor do I have a lifestyle that lends itself to anything cute or trendy (I have one outfit for Weddings/Funerals). Knitting, however, is my Drug of Choice and I could definitely use more stitches.
And coffee. I could use more coffee too.
    Olive is gorgeous. Carry on.

  134. I would LOVE the knitting stitches book.

  135. I’d love the 400 Stitches dictionary. I’ve just passed my one year knitting anniversary and would love to start designing my own projects.

  136. 400 Knitting Stitches. Fingers crossed and thank you!

  137. I’d be perfectly happy with either one!
I picture poor Olive shivering without a cardigan! Please knit up a v-neck for her soon!

  140. I lovelovelove the Twinkle book! I have majoring-in-fashion design friend who would DIE.

  142. Sign me up for the 400 Knitting Stiches! I’ve been needing a stitch dictionary for my charity blankets. I seem to get stuck with the same ones over and over again. Thanks!

  143. the twinkle book looks great! i’m going to have to look her up…

  144. I would love the 400 Stitches book!

  145. I can use another stitch dictionary as I only have one of Barbara Walker’s and I bought that before I knew who she was and that was a LONG time ago. I love contests!

  146. I would like the Twinkle Book, I am already blessed by Barbara Walker!

  147. I would love the 400 stitches book!

  148. Stitch book, please.

  149. I would love to win the twinkle book. She’s got some pretty fabulous designs and maybe it’s time to work on the decades old fabric stash.

  150. Barbara Walker’s Learn to Knit Afghan book is really wonderful. I would highly recommend it as an alternative to a book of stitches. Your hooked rug is lovely.

  151. I covet the stitch dictionary!

  152. You are so very generous.
I would love (LOVE) Twinkle Sews

  153. Oooh, I’d pick Twinkle’s book!

  154. Oooh, I’d pick Twinkle’s book!

  160. 400 Stitches, by all means (not that I don’t sew, but I seldom indulge).

  161. 400 Knitting Stitches. No, one cannot have too many knitting books at all!

  162. I would love a copy of the stitch dictionary! I don’t own one (really! Not a single one!). I promise that I would use each and every stitch though (all 400 of ‘em)!

  170. I would so love the 400 stitches book. Love the cover image. Makes you want to get swatchin!

  171. I vote for the 400 Knitting Stitches. Twinkle Sews would only be Twinkle Sits, on my coffee table.

  172. Oh, please put me down for the stitch dictionary please. I have one but it doesn’t have photos, only black and white drawings. I love the color in that cover. My poodle promises to not chew on the book, but it is very likely he will nap stretched across it. He has some cat like tendencies.

  173. I would love either for my collection, but my first choice would be 400 stitches! That Twinkle has some great style, though!

  174. Thanks for the contest. Please enter me for the 400 Stitches Book.

  175. 400 stitches would be my choice – great ideas for the 4H knit and crochet group…

    Thx!
    Sarangdino

  177. I would really love 400 Knitting Stitches :)

  178. Twinkle Sews! I just received a sewing machine as a gift from my grandma. Time to create!
And, c’mon, doesn’t wee Olive need some knitwear for her winter walks? The cold days will be here shortly!

  179. Oh, Twinkle, please!

  180. I am thoroughly infatuated with stitch dictionaries (despite the fact that I only own two…the Harmony Guides) and would LOVE the 400 Knitting Stitches. (Good thing it’s not 401 stitches…it would have never fit on my bookshelf!)
    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  181. I love that blue on your rug. It’s been sooo long since I hooked. However, I wish to remain faithful to the knitting, and not add another time theif to my life! My little boys would like to have Olive. Guess they’ll have to get in line!

  182. Haven’t mastered the sewing thing yet, so 400 knitting stiches it is! Thanks!

  183. I love the hot models! I’d like to think I’m pretty dang hot myself, as are we all. I’d love Twinkle Sews. (I just made a super chunky cowl, I’ll put it on the blog soon!)

  184. The 400 Stitches book would be a welcome and much needed addition to my woefully small knitting-related library.
(And Olive is adorable, by the way!)
You ladies have a wonderful day!

  190. I am interested in the knitting stitch book.

  191. I love to swatch and try out new stitches–so would love the 400 stitches book! thanks for being so generous…

  192. 400 stitches!

  193. Oh my. I have one stitch dictionary and will curl up in bed and read it for pleasure in much the same way I read cookbooks in bed for pleasure, I’d dearly love to have that stitch dictionary.
I may be a fat middle aged momma myself, but I never mind seeing slim models. I like looking at all sorts of people, doesn’t matter what they weigh. Good photography and interesting clothing combined with the pleasure of ogling human beings is fine by me. Then again, I could sit for hours in a coffee shop and just stare at everyone passing by, so maybe my requirements for ogling are minimal?

  194. You know what book I’d like? Mason-Dixon 3: Revenge of the Log Cabin. Any chance that’ll be hitting the shelves someday soon? (Since we are trying to sell our house, I cannot under any circumstances bring in more books, so don’t enter me in the drawing.)

  195. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches book, I like designing my own knits and can use all the help I can get.

  196. Just read the amazon write up bout Twinkle Sews. Sounds great.

  197. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches book!

  198. I would love a chance at the 400 Knitting Stitches book as I don’t have any stitch guides yet at all!
    Thanks!

  199. Oooh … I would love to be in the running for the 400 Knitting Stitches book!

  200. I would love the 400 stitch book, it would increase my repertoire by 398 stitches!

  201. Do we really need 400 stitches? Yes, of course we do. Please enter me in the stitch dictionary drawing.

  202. I think I would like the Twinkle book, actually. :) I don’t sew much, but I like the thought of it!

  203. Agree with some one else here – can one have TOO many stitch dictionaries? especially if one is starting to design…
love to Olive (she is adorable and if she wants a play date in the wilds of westchester let me know!)

  204. With the help of the Twinkle book and my trusty Bernina, there is hope of bringing peaceful mornings to the home of two aspiring, frightfully young fashionistas, and their fashion-challenged mother( she who happily wore her Tevas every day this summer.) Getting the fashionistas “turned out” in the morning is resulting in ever increasing stomping, eye-rolling, and tears (mine & theirs.) I need all the help I can get!

  205. I loved both books, but the 400 Knitting Stitches is definitely more up my alley.
    Thanks!

  206. I’d love the 400 Stitches book. And the dog is so cute I could plotz.

  207. The sewing book, please! It looks like it has some cute patterns in it! Fingers crossed!

  208. I would love to have Twinkle Sews. I put away my sewing machine a number of years ago (a burnt-out custom seamstress!). This book inspires me to sew again for my daughter who is an art major.

  209. I’m all about 400 stitches. Sign me up please.

  210. Oh, I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches book! Thanks for the opportunity!

  213. I would LOVE LOVE the 400 stitches book. :-)

  214. Please enter my name for the 400 knitting stitches, as I don’t think you can ever have enough stitch dictionaries.

  215. No sewing for me, thanks. I’d love the knittng book.

  216. I’d like the Four Hundred Knitting stitches please!

  217. I’d love the 400 stitches book!

  218. I’m planning to get back into sewing after a long hiatus. Twinkle Sews looks inspirational.

  219. I’d love that Twinkle book, since I already have more stitch dictionaries than is good for me!

  220. Oh, I would love 400 Stitches. You mean there’s more than stockinette and garter? Who knew? Please pick me!!

  221. Please enter me for the 400 Stitches book! Thank you!

  222. I would love the sewing book. I’m young, I like to think about sewing my own clothes :)

  223. I’d love 400 Knitted Stitches because I only have one Barbara Walker and I just moved so I have no idea where it is!

  224. 400 Stitches is actually on my Amazon wish list. I promise to give it a good home. :)

  225. 400 Stitches because I love to design with new “toys.”

  226. Please enter me for the 400 Stitches book. I promise to give it a good home. :)

  227. I’d love the Twinkle Sews book. :)

  228. Would love to win either but since Christmas is coming then my “Best-Friend-Who-Is-An-Awesome-Seamstress” would be very excited to have the Twinkle book. Hopefully I would be re-gifted with an awesome garment out of that too!

  229. The 400 stitches book. Thanks.

  230. Would love the 400 stitches book…Always looking for away to create without having to do a lot of research! :)

  231. Is that the delicious Olive chewing on the corner of a book?! Too cute. I’d be especially pleased to receive the 400 stitches dictionary, should the randomness crown me.

  232. It’s definitely “400 Knitting Stitches” for me. Those swatches on the cover look suspiciously like dishcloths — think how clean my kitchen would be if I owned 400 dishcloths!

  233. I would love the Twinkle book….all my nieces are just the right age and style for these things. I could sew my head off.

  234. Love the Twinkle book!!

  235. Looks like I have some competition here, but would love the 400 stitches book!

  236. Twinkle book….I have an odd shape so I frequently have to tweak my clothes to give them some style/quirk/panache/waistline.

  237. I’d have to pick “Twinkle Sews”. I love knitting and have quite a few knitting books, but the “Twinkle Sews” book really intrigues me.

  238. I would love to enter for the 400 stitches.
If I were more fashionable or a better seamstress, I would be interested in Twinkle Sews but my fashion sense died a horrible death before I even got out of grade school. No Twinkle for me!

  239. Book giveaways?!?! I’m so there! Please enter me for the 400 Stitches book, as I’m not a sewer, much to my mother’s chagrin.

  240. Would love to win the 400 Knitting Patterns book – Hester from Atlanta who has never won anything in my whole life – (except for the white opera length gloves when I was 14 – unless you are a beauty pagent participater – who wants opera length white gloves at 14?)

  241. I would love the 400 Knit Stitches book.
Can’t sew at all, knitting is all I have.
    Thanks,
    Tina in Mass

  246. Always in need of extra stitches. Toss my name in the hat for the stitch directory, please!!

  247. I would love the Twinkle sewing book!

  248. I love to sew, but given my zaftig size and the fact that I have four sons, I think the stitch dictionary would get a lot more use by me. Here’s hoping!

  249. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches book. I do a lot of charity knitting and am always looking for new patterns to keep the knitting interesting.

  250. 400 Snarkless Stitches, please! That would be, let’s see…about 398 more than I have right now!
My most-chewed book corner ever? “How to Train Your Dog.” No joke. Well, except that the dog was making a joke. Har-de-har-har. She is quite witty!

  251. 400 stitch please.

  252. I would really love to have the 400 stitches book as I am a relatively new knitter and still don’t have a stitch dict. to my book collection (but of course I do have your two books in my library).

  253. You can never have too many stitch dictionaries, can you? Yes, please, and I would be honored if there were some Olive refurbished corners on the stitch book!

  254. I would love to have the stitch dictionary – thanks for the awesome contest!!

  255. My 17 yo daughter would love the Twinkle Sews book. She knits and crochets and is now getting into sewing. Threadbangers is one of her favorite sites. She’d be thrilled with Twinkle!

  261. I would love the knitting stitch book, please. Because I’m new to knitting and don’t already have one and am fascinated that there are SO MANY different ways to essentially loop some yarn.
I don’t sew, so the other book would be not so useful at this time.

  262. Choices, choices…
I would like the Twinkle Sews book, please.

  263. Ooh, much as I enjoy sewing, I Think I’d be able to provide a better home for the 400 knitting stitches — I’m hoping to start the Master Knitter’s program and this would be a helpful reference!

  264. Oooh, I want! I would love to have the 400 stitches book. You guys rock so hard.

  265. I would love the pretty TWINKLE!!! I have a pretty daughter (3 months old :) and she will be the perfect size to wear those cute patterns by the time I finish sewing them!!!

  267. I’ve been thinking I need a stitch dictionary and it would be awesome to win one. Otherwise I will add it to my Christmas list.

  268. Stitch dictionary, please! :)

  269. Twinkle, twinkle, twinkle! I’d like either of them, but have MANY knitting books, and I sometimes have sewing adventures.

  270. 400 stitches…….. wow!!

  271. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches.
And by the way, Olive is adorable!
    TJ

  272. I’m not young or bangin’ but I do have a sewing machine and I would love to have the Twinkle book in my tiny sewing book library.

  273. I would LOVE the 400 stitches book – especially since I only know 2 stitches by heart (knit & purl)

  274. Wow the puppy’s adorable, looks like she’s developing into a playful little thing. 400 stitches would make an amazing addition to my 2 other stitch dictionaries (yes, there are sadly only 2, and they’re small). Although the sewing book looks interesting, I am totally sewing machine impaired.

  275. $00 knit stitches for me! my only stitch dictionary are dishcloth ones and one resale find with 35 patterns… I am way under count!

  276. Oh, please enter me for the Twinkle book! That sophisticated unicorn gladdens my heart as I struggle to make an acceptable unicorn headband for my five-year-old for Halloween.

  277. Well, Olive would really be my first choice, but since she isn’t an option, I’d love to have the knit stitch book. Thanks a bunch!

  278. I would love to have the 400 Stitches book! (I would also love to have an Olive.)

  284. Twinkle Sews! And so do I.

  285. Both are so pretty – but I love the Twinkle book!

  292. I would love the stitch dictionary. I don’t own one and really need it for a scarf I’m working on. Thanks, Beth

  293. I would love the 400 knitting stitches. I don’t have ANY stitch dictionaries, and this would be a great place to start!
    Thanks!!!!

  294. I’d love either book… but first choice is actually Twinkle, even though I’m not a great sewer. But I’m learning :)

  295. Ooooo, I love the stitch dictionary. Wonderful, wonderful. I would consider myself and intermediate/advanced beginner and that book would really get my creative juices flowing. Thanks for a great blog.

  296. When are you going to knit something for Olive?
I’d prefer 400 stitches. And more photos of Olive consuming pattern books and putting teeth marks in wooden knitting needles.

  297. Count me in for the 400 Knitting Stitches book, please. I love stitch dictionaries and would love to get my hands on this one.

  298. The Twinkle book looks so great! I would love to have it!

  299. When are you going to knit something for Olive?
I’d like 400 Stitches. And more pictures of Olive consuming pattern books and putting teethmarks into wooden knitting needles.

  300. Kay, I could go for that 400 Stitches book. Hey, and when you’re back in Big O sometime, you need to go out to Black Horse Antiques and look at her wonderful hand dyed wools and hooking patterns. I am not into hooking officially, but I want to be. I have already compiled the wool stash for it . . .

  301. Dear Kay…I would like to be considered for the 400 Stitches book, which, if I were to win it, I would give to my daughter. She is teaching herself how to design knitwear, and this book would be an invaluable resource for her. thank you!! Corinne

  302. I would love a chance at the Twinkle Sews book!

  303. I could sure use the knitting book.

  307. Please enter me for the 400 stitches book. I don’ thave a stitch-ionary! :)
    Great idea!

  308. Please add me to the list for the Twinkle book. Thanks!

  309. Ooooh, I envy you the Barbara Walker books. I have 4 of hers so far, but will hopefully fill in the 2 essential gaps I have at the next knitters conference I attend.
In the 400 stitches bucket please. Call me crazy, but I love to read stitch dictionaries, just like I still love to read cookbooks.

  310. Sewing makes me sweat….so, 400 Knitting Stitches please.

  311. Twinkle please…..Thanks!!

  312. OH, the Twinkle book, please!!! I’m not a fan of super bulky knitting but love her shapes… so how lovely to see the same shapes in something I would enjoy making!!!

  313. I think the Twinkle book, although both are calling.

  314. The knit stitches book would be a fantastic addition to my (sadly small) knitting library! Thanks for the offer!

  315. Oh my gracious, I’d love 400 Knitting Stitches! I am designing a cowl-y wrappy hoodie thing for a friend who wants texture! texture! and my lack of stitch dictionaries is really cramping my style.

  316. I have not sewn garments in eons…so I’d love to be entered into the drawing for the 400 Stitches book. It’d be infinitely more useful.
    Thanks!

  317. ohh I’d love the 400 Knitting stitches, sounds like a staple for the knitting library for sure.

  318. There are 400 stitches? Four…. hundred?! I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED this book! And thanks for the alert. (Four flamin’ hundred…)

  319. That stitch dictionary would be awesome especially since I can knit but can’t sew to save my life.

  320. The Twinkle sewing book looks fabulous! I’ll take it!

  321. That cover photo actually makes me want to swatch. And nothing, NOTHING, makes me want to swatch. Impressive!

  322. The 400 stitches book would be treasured here in VA!

  323. I would love the 400 Stitches book. Let’s hope I have the same luck as the Phillies..

  324. I would like to win Twinkle Sews. I have my own set of daughters about Carrie’s age who would love to place orders for fun, different-but-not-weird ensembles. Like I don’t have anything else to do what with the metric ton of yarn and fiber I scored at Rhinebeck. And what with Stitches East this weekend…

  325. How I would love to add the “400 knitting stitches” to my knitting library–I don’t have a contemporary stitch guide yet. Thanks for having a drawing!

  326. The Twinkle book looks AWESOME, but I can’t sew very well, so I’d like the 400 Knitting Stitches book. (I own zero stitch dictionaries.) Oh, and you may send Olive along, too, if you’d like. ^o^

  327. I am just desperate to hug that dog, she is SOOOO cute. I love stitch dictionaries, and since it is a contest, I wouldn’t be buying it, so what’s another!!!!

  328. Stitch dictionary – Please and thank you…
And an Olive on the side would be fabulous.

  329. 400 stitches please!

  330. I would like a try to win the 400 stitches book. I can’t sew a straight line to save my life. My mom and sisters can I just didn’t inherit that talent. Knitting I like to do especially in the wintertime.

  331. I would simply love to have the Twinkle book.

  332. A twinkling smile for Twinkle! Thanks!

  333. I would love the twinkle sewing book. I am a new sewer but I have lofty goals of sewing my own clothing, and I’m getting pretty good.
    Thank you,
    Audrey

  334. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitch Book.

  335. I’d love the 400 knitting stitches book. I have the desire to be a knitting designer some day.

  336. as much as i love a good pun in a title, i was just looking for a good stitchionary…sign me up for the 400 stitches, please!

  337. 400 Stitches, please, because looking at stitch dictionaries is like looking at porn for me.

  338. Sign me up for the stitch dictionary!

  339. The 400 Stitches would have a lovely home on my shelf (although I expect it will spend more time vacationing in my knitting bag!)

  340. Sewing book, please. My daughter would love to sew clothing that would make her look just like Twinkle. Really.

  341. Please-please-please — the 400 Knitting Stitches. I haven’t seen my sewing machine in forever (I think it is buried somewhere beneath my yarn stash).
And thanks for working in those photos of the adorable Olive. What dainty little paws!

  342. 400 stitches, please and thank you. That Olive is too dang CUTE!!

  343. The sewing book looks far too sophisticated for my 5 year old, the only person I do any sewing for, so I’ll opt for the stitch dictionary.

  344. The sewing book looks far too sophisticated for my 5 year old, the only person I do any sewing for, so I’ll opt for the stitch dictionary.

  345. I’d love a copy of the stitch dictionary.

  346. I’d love a stitch guide to help me adjust the learning curve! Thanks for your generosity!

  347. Oh, I’d love the stitch dictionary. I would even send a “verre à moutarde” if I thought it would help my name to come out of the hat.

  348. 400 stitches, please!!! I need a good knitting stitch book.

  349. hard choice, but I’ll go for the knit stitches.
(got a backlog of sewing projects, better finish those before I get any new sewing inspiration.)

  350. Thank you for the free stuff Tuesday! I would love to have a chance at the 400 stitches book.

  351. The Twinkle sewing book looks awesome – loving the pics you showed. Thank you for your generosity!

  352. That stitch dictionary looks like all kinds of fun! I’d be thrilled to find it in my mail!

  353. I could really use 400 Stitches! I am sure that 395 new stitches would be a big help!

  354. I would really like the stitch dictionary. If I don’t use it, my knitting teenage soon will.

  355. The 400 stitches book looks amazing.
Thanks for the chance of winning.

  356. Love the stitch dictionary and would love to own it, but I really really loooove Olive. She is a cutey.
    Sarah

  357. Hi! I love reading your blog. Please put me on the 400 Stitches list!
    Thanks!

  358. I would love the Twinkle book!

  359. I’m a faithful reader and I would like the 400 Stitches.

  360. I’m going to opt for the 400 Knitting Stitches book. I love the look of the Twinkle book and I can sew but alas the designs may not be age appropriate for the mother of a college student. (Student is a guy so can’t even sew for him!)

  361. Please put me down for 400 Knitting stitches. (I haven’t used my sewing machine in over ten years)

  362. I’m Barbara Walker-less. Love the 400 Stitches book!

  363. 400 Knitting Stitches please!

  364. Hi, I’ll enter to win the twinkle book, thanks for doing this. Maybe I can start being fashionable or something.

  365. Hi! I have 3(!) teen-aged daughters and they would be very happy if I got the Twinkle Sews book. It looks like a great book of sewing inspiration for those of us who knit and sew. I am not a quilter, however (although sometimes I make quilts). I prefer to sew clothes, especially for my daughters.

  366. Hi Kay, I would love to have the stitch dictionary book for my own personal library. It’s taking over the house, and outnumbers the cooking books 2:1. What does that say about my priorities?
Thanks for the give-away, Sara Denbo in AL

  367. How generous! I’d love the stitch dictionary… it’a about time I take some more adventures with stitches.

  368. I think it’s wonderful that you all are so willing to share your beautiful books. I would be interested in the Twinkle book since I recently inherited 2 sewing machines from my late MIL–one for me and one for my 9 yo daughter. I’m only now getting back into sewing after leaving junior high many years ago.
    Thanks!

  369. Oh a stitch dictionary!! 400 for me please!

  370. I’d LOVE the stitch dictionary (my sewing is definitely not good enough for garments, and I’ve been borrowing my MIL’s stitch dictionary)!

  371. I’d love Twinkle’s book. While I am a confirmed kinitoholic I too have the Compleat works of Walker and Harmonies too. I am also a confirmed sewaholic (and quiltaholic… keep those posts coming!) My teenage daughter is a rarin’ to start sewing her own clothes. Thanks, Catharine

  372. It is so nice of you all to share your books with your blog readers. I am interested in the Twinkle book as I recently inherited 2 sewing machines from my late MIL–one for me and one for my 9 yo daughter. I’m very excited to return to sewing (not having done any since junior high sewing class).

  373. Please consider me for the sewing book.
    Thanks!

  374. Ooooh put me in for the stitch dictionary pls!

  375. Twinkle please!

  376. My daughter is about to start hunting for a real, grown-up, college graduate job. I’d love to have the Twinkle book to use for her!
Thanks for the chance to win.

  377. I need a stitch dictionary. Don’t own even one! Oh please! Thank you.

  378. I’d love a new stitch dictionary to keep all the other stitch dictionaries company on my bookshelf.

  379. Oh both look great and I too can’t seem to get enough stitch dictionaries but… *fingers crossed* Twinkle Sews please since the pictures look great and I’m trying to sew more.

  380. Since I don’t sew, I’d love the stitch dictionary.

  381. Would love the stitches book – having surgery soon and nothing would be finer than recouping in a recliner with this one.

  382. Love me some Twinkle.

  383. Yet another stitch dictionary – yummmmm!

  384. 400 stitches ~ I’m holding out for my Mom’s Barbara Walker books, but I’d like that to be a long, long wait.
    Thanks for all the giveaways.

  385. Lovely looking knitting samples…oh to win one.

  386. I would love the 400 stitches one! I hope that I win, or I may just have to add it to my shopping wish list!

  387. Oh wow, those books are really pretty! I’d love the chance to win 400 knitting stitches! It would really help me with picking patterns to knit scarves.

  388. Stitch Dictionary please, should I be so lucky…:)

  389. Wow, I’d love (and use) either of those, but I think my choice is Twinkle Sews. I’ve been really into sewing lately, and her designs are so interesting!

  390. I would love 400 Knitting Stitches since I don’t have any stitch dictionaries. Thanks for the chance.

  391. 400 knitting stitches for me. My stash needs some options! -L

  392. Must hope for the lovely stitch dictionary. I am far too unhip, and hippy (yes, in that way) to ever picture myself in the clever sewing book designs. Any chance Olive will autograph it if I win?

  393. Twinkle Sews, svp. I’ve got a very hip teen and an even hipper tween begging for things other than khakis and jeans . . . Thanks!

  394. Thanks to you and your publisher for the contest. I would love the stitch dictionary.

  395. Pick me for 400 Stitch Dictionary, pretty please!

  396. So Sorry!! Computer glitch!! I REALLY didn’t mean to try and enter twice above!!!

  397. Hi Kay
I would love the Twinkle book, just had braces on my teeth and so shall soon be Twinkle thin!
    Sarah

  398. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches by Potter Craft. Thanks!

  399. Oh please, oh please!! The 400 Stitch Dictionary for me! The only knitting book I’ve purchased since moving into my new house is the Indigo Knits book. (Which, btw, is just as fabulous as you suggested!)

  400. Please select me to receive the 400 Knitting Stitches book. SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  401. I’d love the sewing one!

  402. I would love the 400 Stitches – since I haven’t touched Mr. Sewing Machine in a decade or more!

  403. I would love the 400 Stitches – since I haven’t touched Mr. Sewing Machine in a decade or more!

  404. 400 stiches please. Thanks

  405. I teach knitting to the seniors (go, girls!) at the Lennox Hill Senior Center at 70th Street and First Avenue. These fine wimmen (Flo, Marg,Nancy, Eve Rose, Regina, etc.) are always asking for specific stitches and patterns. (We’ve all been making gorgeous hurdle stitch scarves with loosey-goosey yarn.) It would be great if we could start a knitting book library with this book. And if there’s anyone out there with extra yarn, we’ll happily take it! Pick us! Puh-lease!
    Harriet

  406. On Halloween I fly to Japan for a (minimum) 2 year stint working as a librarian for the Marine Corps. Japanese women are petite lotus blossoms (even teenier than fashion models). There is no way possible for my wide-load American fanny to fit into Japanese sized clothing; therefore I am in dire need of Twinkle Sews, especially since it’s been given the quality control check by Olive.

  407. I’d love 400 Knitting Stitches. :)

  408. I’ll throw my (virtual) hat into the ring for the 400 knitting stitches please!

  409. 400 Knitting Stitches for it’s appealing cover AND 400 stitches. My 14 year old warmed my heart by starting to finish what she started with those seductive skeins she always convinced me to get her in return for allowing me to drag her to the yarn shop. She decides what she wants to make and then starts creating her own patterns. She even figured out how to use two colors and make diamonds. I would love to surprise her with a beginning for her own knitting library to go with her growing yarn stash.

  410. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches book. Please give Olive a hug from me, she is adorable!

  411. 400 Knitting Stitches for it’s appealing cover AND 400 stitches.

  412. Twinkle, please… My 20 year old daughter would look fantastic in those clothes!

  413. I would love to try for the sewing book. Thanks for the chance.

  414. I would love the 400 stitches book! I want to make afghans for my teenagers to take to college with them. This book will help me create beautiful blankets to remind them of home.

  415. Twinkle for me, please — though the sewing will be for my daughter, not me. Or maybe not. 48 and twinkling – not so bad!

  416. oooohhh so hard to decide…I think I would love the Twinkle book!

  417. okay. that is mortifying. i absolutely did not intend for my comment to be posted three times.
    nine apologies!

  418. I would love the stitch dictionary because I don’t have one. In my head that would mean I would use it to design something greater than a dishcloth with it, but really what’s more important than a cool dishcloth?

  419. The 400 Knitting Stitches is the one I would have the most use for.
    Thanks for this opportunity,
    Di

  420. I think the Twinkle Sews book looks beautiful but as only a button and hem level sewer, I think I would most love to have the 400 stiches book. I don’t have any stich books yet and this would be a great first book.

  421. Well, since I am not 20-something anymore, and don’t have time to sew (which is why I knit more now, though Halloween is coming, and no one wants to wear the really really neat Dembledore cape I made for the final Harry Potter) …
I guess I will opt for the “one can never have enough stitch dictionaries, even if you have all 4 Barbara Walkers ….” eye candy, eye candy.

  422. Love the Twinkle book!

  423. I would love the stitch dictionary because I only have 3 of the Barbara Walker Treasuries (#3 is autographed!). Also my 9 y/o daughter just today told me she didn’t think I had ever won a contest, so it would be really great if you drew my name to prove her wrong.

  424. Pick me, pick me! I would like 400 Stitches, because I think it would help me get a ribbon at the State Fair. Thanks.

  425. Love the Twinkle book!

  426. I would love the 400 knitting stitches. I do own one Barbara Walker but the rest are on the present list so I can’t buy them for myself.

  427. 400 Stitches sounds just about right!

  428. i’m knitting a huge blanket and changing stitch with every one of my 24 skeins so the knitting book would be a huge help. yes, please.

  438. The 400 knitting stitches,ohplease ohplease ohplease….
    LoveDiane

  439. I would love to win the 400 knitting stitches since I don’t know how to sew. Does everyone else have the experience of people thinking that if you can knit you must sew also?

  440. I’d love to have the 400 Knitting Stitches book. One can never look at enough knitting stitches!

  441. I’d love the 400 stitches guide as I have only managed the 2nd treasury so far. I do have her feminist literature, however and worship BW deeply.

  442. I would so enjoy winning “400 Knitting Stitches”. You can never have to many you know.

  443. 400 stitches, please… I wish I could sew well enough to give the other a good home, but I can’t.
    Thanks!

  444. From the sounds of it, “400 Stitches” would be the safest choice – no skinny models there…

  445. I would love the “400 Knitting Stitches” book. You can never have too many stitches you know!

  446. I love the 400 Stitches – but I always judge a book by its cover!

  447. I believe the book should be named “The Four Hundred” stitches, since that’s how many could fit into Mrs. Astor’s knitting bag. Or something like that.
    Elizabeth

  448. Well, I would love 400 Stitches!! I can’t sew so no point to giving me a sewing book. Thanks.

  449. OHHH, I love free stuff. I love books. I love free books! I’d die to wrap my hands around the 400 stitch book. I’ve been collecting as of late. For what, I may die before I figger it out, but hey- I like a good collection. :D

  450. Olive is adorable. Can I win her instead??!
(I’d love to be entered for the Twinkle book.)

  451. 400 Knitting Stitches, plz :)

  453. I’d love the Twinkle–I’ve been sewing like mad recently!

  454. I would choose Twinkle Sews because I always look at Twinkle books but never have gotten one. The designs might not fit me, but my daughter would enjoy them.
    Thank you for the give-a-way!

  455. 400 Stitches! A new blanket design in the works…

  456. I would give my eyeteeth for the Twinkle sewing book! Here in North Central Washington, we are approaching on Hibernation Season, and knitting too much hurts my hands, so I need some sewing distractions and LOVE Twinkle! Thank you.

  457. I would LURVE the 400 Stitches! I’m in a finishing mode on my current WIP, so need some new inspiration!

  458. Twinkle! and I would love to look like Twinkle’s models!

  459. I would love the stitch dictionary. I have a sewing machine, but until my long-awaited craft room is finished by DH, it is sitting patiently in a box. Luckily, my knitting stash is more portable :-)

  460. knit stitches please!!!!!

  461. Ooooh! I’ve seen the “400 Knitting Stitches” in a magazine or catalog lately and thought it would be a great addition to my large knitting book collection, which is rather sparse on the stitch dictionaries (I only have a couple….)
So yes, I would love to have “400 Knitting Stitches”!

  462. I-would-love-to-win-400-knitting-stiches.-Thank-you-for-making-this-give-away-easy!

  470. I’d love to win the knitting stitch book — and your rug looks fantastic.

  471. I’d love 400 Knitting Stitches. I’m tired of the the same old ones I know.
    Teach13

  472. Oh, thanks! Another giveaway!
I would choose 400 Knitting Stitches because I don’t have a stitch dictionary yet. I also don’t sew.

  473. I’d love 400 Knitting Stitches. I’m tired of the the same old ones I know.
    Teach13

  476. 400 stitches! I can’t ever get enough libraries.

  477. Oh so many entries! Please enter me for the Twinkle sewing book and thank you for being so generous with your gifts!

  478. I don’t have a real stitch dictionary, so I’d love to start off with one that has 400 stitches.

  479. I just finished a sewing coarse and that Twinkle sewing book looks great

  480. “400 Knitting Stiches” por favor

  481. Oooo..I like the 400 Knitting Stitches. I promise not to make a skinny model comment. But as someone with pug teeth marks in her Addi Turbos, I can relate to that last picture!

  482. I would love to win the 400 stitches book. And, I am really being drawn in by the fabulous rug hooking. So gorgeous. Thanks for posting!

  483. I would love 400 Knitting Stitches!!

  484. I would love to win the 400 stitches book. And, I am really being drawn in by the fabulous rug hooking. So gorgeous. Thanks for posting!

  485. Count me in for the knit stitch book — I don’t even think I know 40 stitches yet, so 400 would keep me amused for a very long time.

  486. 400 Stitches, please! I love to learn new stitches for socks or puppy sweaters or hats or….whatever! What’s a URL?

  487. If a stitch in time saves nine, my mind boggles at how many stitches can be saved by having 400
    Stitches!
Oh random number generator please pick me!!

  492. I would love the 400 stitches book please! I would love to make a blanket making squares from it. Thank you!!!!!

  493. I’d like a chance on the 400 Stitches. No time for sewing…too busy knitting.

  494. A silly part of me says I would be more likely to win the Twinkle drawing, but I would be unlikely to actually make any of the projects, so stitch dictionary it is!

  495. Oh, that new twinkle book looks interesting. just took up sewing too. Count me in please.

  496. Wow, so many people and only 2 books! I can’t sew, so I would want the 400 Stitches…

  497. I’d choose the 400 knitting stitches. Mainly because the cover is so bright and cheery and fun! I want multicolored squares of various stitches for an afghan, dangit! Plus, the best thing about the Twinkle Sews book is that chunky knit scarf, which I’d most likely spend my time reverse engineering it rather than sewing from the book.
    *crosses fingers* :]

  498. 400 Knitting Stitches please.

  499. ohh, the Twinkle book, if you please.

  500. I would love the 400 knitting stitches, if I was so lucky to win.

    Fingers crossed!
    Sue

  508. Dear Kay,
I would love to add the 400 Stitches book to my collection. I love to learn new things. I’m sure there are only 390 or so stitches left to learn! Thank you, thank you!

  509. Oh I could do a lot with 400 stitches…. wowwie!

  510. I don’t have any stitch dictionaries! (yet, fingers crossed!) 400 knitting stitches please!

  511. Oooh! I would have to go with the 400 stitches, as I don’t have a good stitch library book, and that one look very yummy. The sewing one look like a lot of fun too, but my poor machine is all but ignored now a days.

  512. I’d like to see what Twinkle Sews. I “sew” liked what she knitted.
    -CatKnitz

  534. Dear Kay,
I would love to have the 400 stitches knitting book. But I love Olive more. I’m your dogsitting connection, right here in Music City.

  535. oooh, I would love the stitch dictionary. need new ideas for hats!

  536. I would love the Twinkle sewing book! I recently found my sewing machine again (one good thing about cross-country moves is that when you unpack everything, you find things you didn’t know you had!) and would love some new ideas!
    Thanks for your awesome contest!

  537. 400 stitches! I love stitch dictionaries.

  538. I don’t have a stitch dictionary! I would love “400 Knitting Stitches”!
    p.s. Olive sure is cute!

  539. stitch dictionary please! I’ve swatched out stitch squares in the past and have recently tried, with mixed success, converting them into the round for sock cuffs. It’s fun when it works!

  540. I would love the stitches book! You can’t have too many stitch collections!

  541. Because my soul says “Yes, you can design your own sweater” the 400 Knitting Stitches could be essential. I’ll take that, thanks.

  542. I don’t own a single stitch dictionary and I don’t sew… so definitely crossing my fingers that I get that lovely book with 400 stitches! It’s awesome of you to give it away. :)

  546. I would love the knitting stitches dictionary! :)

  547. 400 Knitting Stitches, please!

  548. How kind of you to share! I’d love the knitting stitches dictionary. And I love Olive – she is Simply Adorable. Please give her a scratch behind the ears, and a belly rub, from me.

  549. Twinkle Sews would be my choice!

  550. I would love the 400 stitch book – I’m thinking of designing some patterns for towels and dishcloths!

  551. Twinkle Sews would be my choice!

  552. I’d like the 400 Knitting Stitches. I think it would go with both of my Mason Dixon Knitting books rather nicely!

  553. I would love the sewing book! Thanks for doing this! :)

  554. 400 knitting stitches- wow- that will keep me occupied for a while – since I’m having surgery in Dec. I’ll have time to try them all- prolly only half of them but a gal’s gotta have a goal.

  555. I really want to win Olive, but since I suspect I haven’t a chance at that, please put me in the drawing for 400 Stitches – I’m sure at least 390 of them will be new to me!
    xoxo

  556. Must have the stitch dictionary….but the other one is cute too…

  557. Dang, I’d be happy with either one, but I’ll say sew me, sista! (You know what I mean, right?)

  558. Please enter me to win the knitting stitch book. Thanks.

  559. Hi, please enter my name with the 400 stitches book. I did poorly in home ec with the sewing class. The teacher (nun) made me wear my outfit in a fashion show at the end of the semester, still feeling the pain!!!

  560. Hi, please enter my name with the 400 stitches book. I did poorly in home ec with the sewing class. The teacher (nun) made me wear my outfit in a fashion show at the end of the semester, still feeling the pain!!!

  561. Twinkle Sews looks like a book I’d like to win! Thanks.

  562. I would love to win the stitch book! I am a beginning knitter and have been looking for a good reference.

  564. 400 Knitting Stitches would be pretty sweet, especially with the scarf kick I’ve been on.

  565. I would like 400 knitting stitches. Thanks.

  566. Alrighty then, since I too have many pattern books, put me in for Twinkle’s Sewing. Inspiration can come from anywhere!

  567. Would LOVE 400 Knitting Stitches, or Olive for a weekend. :)

  568. I would like the 400 stitches book because i have no Barbara Walker books and need new ideas for yarn bought recently at Webs and the NYC yarn crawl and I haven’t bought yarn since the latter.

  569. I would love the 400 stitches book. (My sewing skills are basic at best.)

  570. Wouldn’t it be great to have a stitch dictionary?

  571. I’d love the 400 Knitting Stitches book. Sewing will have to wait for my next life–no time to learn! But I could certainly learn a few (hundred) knitting stitches in my spare time.

  572. 400 Knitting Stitches looks like my pick of the two… thanks so much for doing this… highly kind of you… Thanks to Olive too for sacrificing some highly upscale knitterly chew toys! ;)

  573. I’d love to win the 400 Knitting Stitches book.
If I don’t I’ll just have to buy it!

  574. 400 stitches, please! Thank you!

  575. I’ve been dying for a stitch dictionary. Hopefully I can win one. And I don’t care how skinny the models are the fashions are cute! But the stitch dictionary would be much more useful. One more for the 400 knitting stitches book.

  576. I’d love the Twinkle book.

  577. I could learn 400 knitting stitches in a year, and blog about it, a la “Julia and Julie?” An interesting challenge!

  578. 400 Stitches please! I think if I had a big ol’ stitch book in my house that would make me a “real” knitter!!

  579. I would love the 400 stitches book, please.
You dog is so adorable! And this from a die-hard cat person…

  580. I’d love to win the sewing book, to go with my new sewing machine. I’ve got the same problem as you, Kay, with an overabundance of stitch dictionaries–400 more would overwhelm me to paralysis. By the way, thanks for using my favorite word! Do you know how long I have to wait between sightings of “insouciant”?

  581. Ooh! I would LOVE “400 Stitches.”

  582. Olive is so totally adorable!
I would love a chance at the 400 stitches book. Thanks.

  583. I’m not promising I could ever do 400 different stitches, but I have a dream. Thanks!

  584. Not much in to sewing these days. And I have male offspring and am unhip, so would hardly wear a thing from Twinkle.
So, Please enter me in the 400 stitch book giveaway! :)
    Thanks.

  585. I was a sewer before I ever knitted and already have Twinkle Sews on my wish list. Please pick me! And Kay, I saw a blurb in VK Holiday 2009 about knitting chair covers for plastic patio chairs and it reminded me of your project.

  586. hey, i just added twinkles book to my wish list at the library to look through! But i need the 400 stitches book, as i always seem to be crusing the internet for certain stitches this would come in handy…we have the worst internet company!! S-L-O-W!!

  587. I don’t have a chance of winning…but just in case 400 Stitches please

  588. since my libray only has 2 of Barbara Walker’s books, I’m interested in 400 Knittin Stiches.
By the way, at first glance I mis-read the ‘Potter Craft’ and thought it was ‘Poetry Craft’. In those few seconds I was curious as to whether this meant the author considered a swatch a poem. Was rather disapponted when my eyes re-focused and saw ‘Potter Craft’. I definately don’t think I’d be interested in treating swatches like pots. But I’m still interested in the stiches.
Thanks so much for your generous nature to share with the rest of us.

  589. as a child, growing up in australia, ‘to twinkle’ was our euphemism for ‘to wee’ (another euphemism but you know what i mean). nevertheless, would love a copy of the twinkle sews book. thank you for offering the competition.

  590. Twinkle Sews please! Thanks a bunch.

  591. Would love a chance at 400 Stitches, please & thank you.

  592. Give me Twinkle! I love her skinny models. My daughter is built just like them and I like to see thin women dressed warmly. Ha!

  593. Could i please, oh please, win the knitting book? I NEED to know more than I do now…I am a beginner and would be ever so grateful!

  594. 400 Knitting Stitches…I need some inspiration~!

  595. Okay, I’ve got to put my name in the hat for Twinkle Sews. Sewing has been intriguing to me lately and I love Twinkle’s style.

  596. I don’t think that one can ever have too many stitch dictionaries, so my choice would be 400 stitches!

  597. Okay, a quick scan of the comments did not turn up this one – TWINKLE? I do swear I give my age away when I thought you were writing about TWIGGY! *sigh* And I thought she had grown up (and dare I say out?) and gone into sewing! (Sorry, do really not know Twinkle at all. Blame it on being stuck in Bangkok …)
Books? Well, the 400 stitches would be neat, but I can’t see you picking me because then you’d have to pay postage to Bangkok, which is evidently not cheap given the recent quote by a yarn company that is 3X the cost of the yarn!
Keep including Olive in all the pictures … why wasn’t she on your rugging?

  598. I’d love the stitch pattern book. I should get it because I am so sad after going to the Angel/Yankee game and seeing my beloved Angels get the stuffing beat out of them from those big, bad NYYs.

  599. Thanks for the fun give-a-way. If you pick me, I would love to have the Twinkle book.

  600. I don’t have a stitch dictionary yet, so my vote is for that one. Thank you for doing this as a give away :) Although I am in Canada – not sure if that poses a problem or not.

  601. My college freshman daughter sews her own clothes and would be very interested in Twinkle Sews. She also knits and enjoys reading your blog and your books!

  602. It’s 400 knitting stitches or nothing! Many thanks.

  603. My sewing machine is currently in mothballs, everysince I rediscovered my love of knitting — so, it would have to be the stitches book, please and thank you for the opportunity to win!

  604. Could stitches possibly have been rationed over here in Germany when no one was looking? We don’t have 400 stitches! Well *I* don’t have 400 stitches! But I could… please Lady Luck!

  605. I’d love the beautiful and functional stitch dictionary, please.

  606. Twinkle, twinkle, little boooook. ;) Though they both look neat. Thanks for sharing your new reading material with us!

  607. I’d love the stitch dictionary. Fairly new knitter – I’d put it to good use! Thanks so much for sharing the wealth.

  608. I’d love to be entered for the Twinkle book, I am in the UK though, so if that causes a problem I won’t be upset.

  609. 400 Stitches please! Glad you found Olive.

  610. I’d love a chance at 400 Knitting Stitches please.
Teeth marks by Olive are a fine addition to the book. My dog sometimes bites on the corners of my library books (just to taste test them you know) but I always have managed to save them from lasting damage so far.

  611. pick me! pick me! 400 Stitches, please! (waves hand wildly)
    Please! :-)

  612. One can never have too much inspiration, so I’d wish for the 400 stitches, if I’m so lucky ;)
Love the many pictures of Olive!

  613. Living on one of the other plateaus, I don’t know off the top of my head whether you americans are living earlier of later than we europeans, so I’m just testing my luch here. I’d really like to receive the “400 Knitting Stitches”.

  614. Hey girls, great books! My choice would have to be the 400 Knitting Stitches, as the only needles i like are the knitting kind lol. Not much into sewing yet.

    Lisa :)

  615. You can never know enough knitting stitches! Please enter me for 400 Knitting Stitches.

  616. I would love the 400 Knitting Stitches please! Though, I do wish I had a sewing machine a knew how to use it. I would then make some saucy clothes for my very deserving 11 year old.

  617. Hiya ladies!
I sure do love your blog, and your books! If I do actually have a snowflake’s chance in h-e-double-hockey-sticks in winning, I’d love the knitting book! Thank you for the offering the drawing. Also, the rug is cute–sure looks better than anything they taught us in Home Ec in high school right?

    tp

I needlepoint also. By doing both I use my hands different ways and am hoping to be able to stitch/knit daily without causing the discomfort to my thumbs that many stitchers get from over use. Margaret
