Our 100th Entry: A Look Back
October 20, 2003
My father has been cleaning house of late. When he’s not yarn shopping for me (get back to New Orleans, will ya, Pappy?), he’s rooting around in his stuff. In the course of tidying up he came across a clipping from The Tennessean, circa 1974. A needlework show out at the local museum? Featuring rugs by old men and weird-looking girls?
Wait a minute. Look closer. Who is that excessively haired creature down in the corner? Why, if Morticia Addams had been a blonde . . .
“Danielle, 10, and Ann, 10 1/2, are already ardent needlecrafters . . . ”
I share this excruciating photo to prove, once and for all, that indeed the crafty impulse runs deep in my pasty soul.
