She Did It! You Did It!

Dear everybody,
It could NOT have been any closer. I mean, I was knitting like a fiend, watching the last minutes of the Name Your Dream Assignment voting, and Gale seemed stuck at #24, #23, #22. SO close, yet so far. She had to make it to #20 to go to the finals, and it just didn’t seem possible. ACK!
But when the voting closed, something amazing happened: tie votes above her! The rules for the contest say: “If there are two or more ideas tied within the top 20, we will take all the ideas to the judges. If that means more than 20 ideas goes to the judges, that is what we will do.” The three ties meant that Gale ended up at #20.
You guys cast almost a ton of votes yesterday for Gale. Thanks so much to everyone who spread the word, including Wendy, Norma, Amy, Clara, Cara, Tess and everybody over at Ravelry!
Now it’s up to a panel of judges to select the winner on April 24. Here are the finalists. I hope Gale gets the chance to do her dream project.

  1. Does this mean I should have made out like I still lived in Boston… and voted OFTEN?????

  2. I keep telling my husband that if knitters, quilters, spinners and weavers all got together as a combined force … wellllllll … things might happen. (c: Yay Gale!

  3. That’s great for Gale. I was a last minute voter. Please let us know how the contest turns out for her!

  4. I am so glad Gale made it to the next round. She has such a terrific idea. Fingers crossed!

  5. Go, Gale!
Took about a dozen tries to get access to the voting page, but I did manage to vote before the polls closed last night πŸ™‚

  6. WE did it! Thanks to you ALL! Don’t ever tell me knitters couldn’t take over the planet and get everything in order within 48 hours if we wanted to.
    WooooHoooooo! On to the judging.

  7. Wahoo! Like the Indian who walked around saying “chance” instead of “how”. “Me know-em how, just want-em chance”.

  8. That’s terrific! We love Heifer and their work. Seems like it would be equally awesome for Gale and Heifer if she got to do her project.

  9. Congratulations Gale!
I have my fingers crossed that the judges see what we see in your work!

  10. Yay for us knitters! We are a powerful, powerful group (grin).

  11. This is so frackin’ fantastic it makes my whole day.
