ModeWerk
Dear Ann,
Recently I got a little package in the mail from dear
Annie Modesitt. Being an inventive knitwear architect and globe-trotting teacher, Annie is pretty much always up to something, but even so, this was news: Annie is in the yarn business.

This was in the package: a luscious hank of ModeSock, a fingering weight wool blend that includes bamboo. Like all of the ModeKnit yarns, ModeSock is hand-dyed. The collection will grow as Annie and her partner, Kathleen Pascuzzi, perfect each colorway.
Being a dutiful blogger (shut up), I immediately sat down and swatched up the ModeKnit sock. By which I mean, I added it to my Never Ending Sock Yarn Fantasia of Log Cabin Love. It looks like it is going to fit right in. I love the sheen, and the saturation of pinky red.

Annie has other yarns available, including a washable wool, in two weights, called ModeWerk, which for some reason I find to be a hilarious and perfect name for a yarn by Annie. For now, the only way to get Annie's yarn is
from her website.
Here's to knitters making yarn!
Love,
Kay
