Postcard from Istanbul

Dear Kay,
That’s me up there, on the last day of our trip to the eastern Mediterranean. Really embraced local culture this time.
So much to write! Rugged re-entry . . .

  1. Welcome back! You have been missed, looking fwd to reading about your adventures.

  2. I don’t want to be a downer here but you might look into laser hair removal….

  3. Ann,
I’ve been meaning to tell you that I bought Bowling Avenue to read on holiday in Shetland and I LOVED it! I couldn’t put it down. It was brilliant.
    Jen xx

  4. Love what you’ve done with your mustache! If you went to Turkey, I hope you had as much fun as I did.
And yes, I enjoyed Bowling Avenue.

  5. Love the chapeau. Istanbul! You must have run into my friend Patricia who was there… She was the one knitting…
    Welcome back!

  6. Don’t you feel warm with all those layers on? (I loved Adrienne’s comment, which was witty and in the vein of my original thought.)

  7. Nice beard πŸ˜‰

  8. Nice beard πŸ˜‰

  9. Istanbul! How romantic-sounding! And, because of Mona Lisa Smile, whenever I hear or read “Istanbul,” this runs through my head.

  10. When the picture first popped up, I immediately thought “Banana telephone!”

  11. The look in your eyes says it was a potent experience. Will be excited to hear more, whenever you’re ready.

  12. Is your hair really sticking straight up like that? Welcome back!

  13. Loved the book as well. The food must have been good. Looks like a little time on the elliptical might be in order. The lady who owns my LYS takes knitters on fiber tours to Turkey. I hope your yarns have good yarn in them. πŸ™‚

  14. Istanbul! I hope you enjoyed my favorite city. I hope you drank good coffee, ate good fish and had your mind blown by textiles. I once knew a woman who had spent eight years in the Topkapi archives–studying Ottoman velvet.

  15. Istanbul is certainly one of my favourite cities as well! Food, architecture, textiles – wow.
Did you have a glass of tea on a ferryboat across the Bosphorus? Such a civilized commute.

  16. nice to have you back

  17. I just want a pattern for a Pussy Riot balaclava:

  18. I think that you must still be alive…I see your twitter feed twinkling feebly from time to time. I hope that you’re feeling better soon!

  19. We went on a 12 day land tour of Turkey for our honeymoon in 2007. Wonderful country, lots of ruins, caravanserais, palaces, textiles, – and knitted items at every gas station/convenience store!
