“I just want more of her.” A wonderful piece on the late lamented food writer, Laurie Colwin.

Rami and Me

Dear Ann,
I am in Tel Aviv. I know! It’s meshugge!
I can’t upload pictures at the moment, but please know that in a few days, you should expect a mighty river of pictures. Israel is a beautiful country; very dense with the National Geographic-style contrasts of trendy and ancient in the same eyefull. The KayCam tried very hard to capture its share of camels in gas stations.
But I couldn’t wait to get back to share with you these images of Rami Meiri’s street murals. I get a thrill every time I spot one.
Shalom, motek!
Kay

Kay — shopping tip: If you have time, call Gdil (guh-DEAL) in Haifa. They sell Addi lace needles for between 17.50 and 19.50 shekels (yeah, that’s $4.60 to $5.10 for the 100 cm circular needle). And they can mail them to you, if you’re around for a bit.
