Mason-Dixon Mailbag: State Fair Edition
September 1, 2010
As you know, it’s state fair knitting season, and I love it when people send along photos of notable knitted stuff they see at state fairs.
Above, for example. Minnesotan Anessa Andersland saw a knitted fish, so of course she thought of us. Cool, I thought-what a cute stripey fish!
The thing is, when I scrolled down, I saw this:
Hello Ann –
I really enjoy your website with Kay. I just had to send you these pictures of what I saw at our Minnesota State Fair yesterday. Apparently, this huge hand knit fish was an attempt to beat the record for the world’s largest knit fish hat. I wonder if Donna is the record holder now? The fabulous fish was attracting lots of attention in the Creative Activities building!
Record holder? Give Donna Clark a MEDAL. I can’t really believe this thing. It’s like a knitted fish pup tent. A condo! A house! It needs a zoning variance!
