This is a day we have anticipated for months.
The moment when we can share the news.
The hour when it’s OK to say it out loud.
We’re saying it!
Norah Gaughan is the designer for MDK Field Guide No. 9.
Her Serene Highness.
You look up knitting designer in the dictionary, and there’s a picture of Norah Gaughan.
OK, here’s another picture of Norah.
Gaughan rhymes with fawn, and that’s pretty much what we’re going to do as we celebrate this new Field Guide.
She has worn many hats in her starry career in knitting.
As a designer, she has created around 1,000 designs, a stunning body of work.
She served as creative director at Berocco Yarns.
She has taught thousands of students.
She is the author of the classic book Knitting Nature and more recently Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook. (Here’s Franklin Habit’s review of that masterwork.)
Her brand-new collection, Interchangeable, launches on the same day as Field Guide No. 9. We are thrilled that these two collections complement each other so perfectly. Watch here for information about ordering Interchangeable.
Field Guide No. 9 launches a week from tomorrow, on Thursday, November 15. We have tremendous plans for fun with this very special Field Guide.
If you are just now hearing the words Norah Gaughan for the first time, you have an excellent adventure ahead of you.
If you’re already a Norah Gaughan fan, you’re really going to love what’s coming next week.
