  • oh goodness, what a lovely film. Very much in hte order of the Chanel documentary you sent us off to watch a little while back, but I was so cheering for Raf at the end. And the tears! How endearing. I googled Sterling Ruby, videos and the photos of the runway show, and found a lovely wormhole for my Sunday morning with my knitting. Thank you!

    • That Sterling Ruby fabric, Lordy. It’s all so dreamy. So glad you u liked it!

  • “oooh la la la la”….the last time I heard someone say that, I was in Paris. Sigh.
Thanks very much for pointing this one out, Ann. I can’t handle crime drama these days, but the intensity of a couturier and a fashion house is so remote and bloodless,* I expect to delve in and enjoy it tremendously!

*Please, please…if there is a violent death in this documentary…tell me NOW.

    • Violence level: low. Seamstress incurs needle stab; Anna Wintour is struck dumb.

      • This I can handle! 🙂

  • If you are a Dior fan I recommend you read The Designer by Marius Gabriel. It is historical fiction centerer on Paris couture at the end of WWII.

  • Also on Netflix. It’s been on my list for a while, but haven’t gotten around to it.

  • Oh, I really loved this documentary! I often think about the part where the scheduler(?- it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it) is telling the crew that she made right descision to send the Premiere to NYC for the fitting, despite Raf’s freak out. “When a client spend $250k a year, you send a Premiere!”
