It’s that time of year. Other people—thoughtful people, organized people—have been making lists of friends and family to whom they’d like to give a little something to cheer their holiday season, and checking things off.
I’ve been awash in good intentions, but have I made a list? Have I checked it twice? Do I have a goldarn clue who’s been naughty and/or nice?
Nope. I haven’t figured out a cute little tool for my sewing circle or knitting circle friends. I need dinky, useful, fun things for pals, and I need it now. Santa’s helpers, please help!
Here are some ideas from the MDK Shop. Fun fact: each of these items is under $30. You’re welcome!
Cotton Hand Towels. A stack of these cotton hand towels in your bathroom will give you a smile every time you see them. The simplest gift. Nobody doesn’t need hand towels. Fourteen colors to mix or match as you like.
Knitter’s Washi Tape. A set of six rolls, straight from the imagination of the brilliant Felicity Ford. For the knitter who has everything, including a Bullet Journal and some presents in need of wrapping.
Gingher Embroidery Scissors. Sharp as heck, these are the best little scissors on the planet. A treat for any knitter or sewist’s tool bag, they give a person an instant sense of expertise.
Learn-to-Knit Kit. Share the love of knitting with a child. A super-cute kit from Norway, plus instructions. A lot, for $20.
Akerworks Swatch Gauge. A game-changing tool that is so beloved we can hardly keep it in stock.
Fob Ruler. Be ready to measure at any time. The leather will deepen in color as you use it. It’s the easiest thing to give, in its gifty muslin bag.
Soak Laundry Soap and Eco Wash Bags. You will get a huge hug of thanks from the lucky sock knitter who gets these supremely useful items. Soak is a gentle, eco-friendly, no-rinse wash for wool and delicates. Combine it with an Eco Wash Bag—and no more losing of the precious handknits!
