Everybody knows about This American Life, of course. When in search of something to knit to, or drive to, you really can’t go wrong with This American Life. A good story, well told, every time.
One story has stayed with me ever since I first heard it a couple of years ago: 129 Cars.
(Note: These car salespeople use the full English vocabulary, including the bad words. This is the bleeped version. The unbleeped version is here.)
129 Cars takes listeners inside a Jeep dealership on Long Island at the end of the month. It’s a juicy slice of humanity, full of humor and tension, and characters who could’ve been played by John Travolta at every stage of his career.
Listening to the story is enhanced by looking at the car lot photo gallery.
