I’m not sure how I feel about this one, but it’s a subject of interest to me—the loss of one’s life partner in mid-life—discussed by two women who have experienced it. It’s a deep well. I have a lot to say about it myself, but I say little, I guess out of a sense that it is a Big Mystery and who am I to say anything about it? (I know! I say a lot about everything! So this is another mystery.) It certainly doesn’t seem to me like a problem to be solved, or “Option B.” It’s good to hear it talked about, though, that’s for sure.
Katie Couric is a good interviewer. Here’s the link to Katie Couric’s podcast. Scroll down to the conversation with Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant, or if you’re in the mood for something more cheerful, such as scrambled eggs with truffle butter, Ina Garten (with surprise appearance of the delightful Jeffrey, America’s best-fed husband).
