I’m absolutely not having a Lazy Sunday today. If all goes as planned, I’ll be up at dawn and heading to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, where I’ll hand out buttons picturing Olive in a lopapeysa and shop for yarn and watch sheepdog trials and generally have a fabulous time, periodically breaking for a Larabar and reapplication of sunscreen. If you’re going to the festival and you see me, please say hi. It’s my first MDSW!
For those not going to Maryland Sheep & Wool, I do have a suggestion for entertainment to accompany your Mother’s Day (in the US) knitting. In an earlier Lazy Sunday, I professed my love of the British sitcom Miranda, featuring the brilliantly kooky Miranda Hart (who may be better known in the US for her role as Chummy in the series Call the Midwife).
I’m sad to report that Miranda has come to an end as a series, but happy to let you know that the final two episodes (episodes 1 and 2 of Series 4) are streaming on Hulu now. Go here to find them. (The series may also be carried on some PBS stations.) (Don’t read about the series on the internet if you don’t want to know how it ends.) Miranda is delightful, and I’m sad that it’s over, but I expect more great things from Miranda Hart.
Happy Mother’s Day, US and Canada moms (and next Tuesday, Mexico moms)!
