Maybe some folks don’t know this, but I am married to a shape shifter. By day, Hubbo is a mild-mannered working fella. By weekend, he becomes the World’s Foremost Financial Country Crooner, the one and only Merle Hazard.
He sings about the typical things that haunt a man who thinks a lot about lovin’, leavin’, and the question of whether we’re headed for inflation or deflation.
Up top is Merle’s brand-new tune, “(Gimme Some of That) Ol’ Atonal Music,” featuring some of Nashville’s finest bluegrass players. Alison Brown, on banjo, is the Grammy-winning brains behind Compass Records, the independent music label responsible for some of today’s most interesting progressive bluegrass and Celtic music.
A toe-tappin’ bluegrass song about atonal music? Merle, you never cease to amaze me.
Share it with all your music-lovin’ friends!
