Here we are, on the cusp of history, the brink of tomorrow, the edge of forever, the corner of Yesterday Street and Future Avenue.
Today is the day of destiny, the final hoorah, the last-chance disco for everyone aiming to finish some socks for the One-Sock Knitalong.
When the clock strikes midnight in Nashville tonight, the curtain will drop on what is surely the lowest-stakes, EZ-access knitalong in recent memory.
If you’re on the verge of glory, if you’re one toe shy of a pair, if you have a lunch break and crave a final little dose of little tiny stitches, well, this is the day. There’s nothing like a completely arbitrary yet solid deadline to get me to do anything.
So hop to it! On Thursday, we’ll announce door prize winners and bestow some awards. Please post your pix so we can wallow in the glory of completion and enter you for our door prizes. We’ll be taking a look at all the photos in Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #onesockkal, as well as pix posted in the truly heartwarming/headspinning joy factory that is the Ravelry One-Sock Knitalong forum.
I seriously cannot stop with the sock making. I hope you’ve all had half as much fun as I have, spending time thinking about this most modest sort of knitting. Thanks to everybody, we now have a list of 200 projects to consider, 35 new patterns, and a bunch of stalwart new sockmaking pals.
By the way, if midnight comes, but your socks have not, we’re not exactly the IRS around here. Just post whenever you get the chance.
