Love your gear! Isn’t that part of the whole thing with knitting? We have been on the lookout for a notions bag to replace the quart-size freezer bag that has been our pathetic companion for too long. Time to level up!
Brooklyn Haberdashery understands that the tools of knitting can be beautiful, whimsical, and useful.
This pouch opens wide when unzipped, to give a full view of what’s in there.
Included in this felty confection are three notions that we declare to be indispensable:
- Tiny Japanese scissors with a wee leather cover. And a silky gray tassel because . . . we all need tiny Japanese scissors with a silky gray tassel. These mini scissors are created by Hasegawa Cutlery, a manufacturer of edged tools established in 1933 and located in Seki, which is Japan’s foremost cutlery-making town. The small silk tassels are carefully handmade by Imasato, a specialist in tassels and knots founded in 1907 and located in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture. For over 100 years, Imasato has been making tassels for Yame Chochin paper lanterns, which are a traditional handicraft. The cases for these scissors are made from high-quality, genuine leather.
- A wooden needle case with five darning needles, made in England, to make your ends weave in with a bit more élan.
- A pair of stitch holders that call to mind the most elegant diaper pins you ever saw. You’ll be able to carry your loose stitches in style now.
The felt matches that of our MDK exclusive Knitter’s Tote—in case you find yourself needing a container for your Brooklyn Haberdashery Notions Pouch.
