Eddy Wrap Pattern
Inspired by a photo of movie star Eddie Redmayne modeling a distinctive, scrappy sweater for a fashion design house, Julia Farwell-Clay became fascinated with how the stitch pattern worked. That fascination led to an article in our pages, and ultimately to this gorgeous shell-bordered wrap design. It begins with a classic (and easy-peasy) garter stitch triangle, which becomes the foundation for a whimsical border of short row shells that combine colors like a mosaic tile floor or a stained glass window.
Our yarn of choice is Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca, as much for its smooth hand, warmth, and luxurious drape as for its wide range of nuanced colors, and guess what: we’ve got Eddy Wrap kits, in three glorious colorways, available in the Shop.
Julia has written the pattern. We’ve kitted it up. Now all you have to do is get your short row game on! Stay tuned for a tutorial from Julia. Knitting backwards, anyone?
