Thrilled! Gobsmacked! We really can’t shut up about Euroflax, and we’re not about to stop now. With colorways selected by creative director/color wizard Melanie Falick, these mini-skeins open up a whole new world of experimenting with linen and color.
Linen yarn like this is for the ages, eternal, a seemingly impossible mix of indestructible and soft. Maybe you’ve heard that it’s stringlike? We say phooey! Wind it in a ball three times before you knit, and it will soften to the state it will be for the next decades of use.
Or do like we do and knit with it straight off the skein—it has never bothered us, because we know that knitting with linen is the fastest way to arrive at a handknit you will use and love forever. The secret, of course, is in the washing. Once washed, Euroflax is as tender to the touch as cotton. But durable like the Shroud of Turin. Or a Viking boat sail. Or somebody’s petticoat from 1742.
Machine wash on the gentle cycle using non-bleach mild soap or wool wash. Dry the item in the dryer on the medium setting for 15 minutes, then lay flat to finish drying. Or, for an even softer fabric, dry the item completely in the dryer. You can enhance the sheen of the yarn by steaming with a steam iron.
