Log Cabin Cloths Kit
Dishcloth, washcloth, washrag—whatever you want to call it, a simple log cabin garter stitch square is one of our favorite ways to play with color. Rowan Handknit Cotton has the colors we really love, and we’ve created two colorways so you can mix and match for your own astounding color experiments.
Please note: pattern not included. The Log Cabin Cloths pattern for this kit appears in Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 4, available in both digital and print versions. Be sure to add a copy of Field Guide No. 4 to your basket at checkout!

Handknit Cotton is one of the classic Rowan yarns we have loved for so long. The worsted weight means it’s got a nice body to it, and it knits up fast. But really, it’s the colors that make us kind of nuts. All these shades work together, in whatever combination grabs you.
The six dishcloth patterns in Field Guide No. 4: Log Cabin make for a great tutorial in the techniques of log cabin knitting. After a few of these, you’ll start vamping on the size of your squares, the size of your cloths—at one point, Kay started making intarsia squares inside her dishcloths. She may have knitted a few dishcloths while completely asleep. The dishcloth thing is a little addicting.
You can make a dozen dishcloths if you order both sets of colors. In our world, making a dozen dishcloths is what we call a good start.
